North Harford Middle School (NHMS) is situated in the midst of beautiful rolling farmland, which is characteristic of the greater part of northern Harford County. The opening sentence in our vision reflects our commitment to the community, “The NHMS mission is to inspire success by respecting and valuing one another.” We believe that this mutual respect is necessary to provide an education in which all students can be successful.
The school can boast many accomplishments over its 38-year history, including its recognition as a U.S. Department of Education Blue Ribbon School and designation by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources as a “Green School”. The North Harford Middle School student body has a strong tradition of supporting our local communities which span the entire northern region of Harford County through many student service learning projects.
The accomplishments that we value most, though, are the accomplishments of our students. Our students excel in academics, music, arts, and athletics through programs offered by the school.
NHMS has embraced the value of a well-grounded foundation in Reading, Writing, Science, Technology, Mathematics, Social Sciences, Health Education and the Arts. Students are exposed to a well-rounded, rigorous and technology rich environment at NHMS.
The Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) is an outstanding group of people who participate in the development, implementation, and funding of many school programs.
