SCHOOLS ARE DESIGNED FOR EVERY STUDENT

Dr. Mack’s superintendency will focus on student success, with the goal that every graduate is prepared to be employed in a career with growth opportunities, enlisted in the military, or enrolled in postsecondary education. Her core priorities include instructional excellence, positive culture and climate, and operational efficiency. Dr. Mack’s initial focus will be on listening, setting a shared vision, and aligning priorities with students, staff, families, the Board of Education, and community partners. Over the first six months, she will make strategic decisions, set measurable goals, and focus on continuous improvement.

Dr Mack’s vision, “Ready by Design,” is centered on the belief that student readiness is not accidental. It must be intentionally planned, supported, and carried out across the entire school system. Her work will focus on ensuring every element of HCPS, including academics, operations, human resources, safety, family engagement, and community partnerships, is designed to help every student succeed.

Meet the Superintendent

Dr. Mack believes public education is a collective effort and that strong schools depend on meaningful collaboration with families, employees, students, businesses, nonprofit organizations, elected officials, the Board of Education, and the broader Harford County community. As part of this commitment, Dr. Mack will host summer “Meet the Superintendent” events at Harford County parks, participate in First Fridays throughout the county, and join story times for our youngest residents. These opportunities will allow families, staff, students, and community members to engage with Dr. Mack and her team, share feedback, ask questions, and help shape the future of HCPS.
