The following is being shared via phone call, email and text with all parents and guardians of students in grades 4-7 on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at 5:00 p.m.:

On Tuesday, February 13, 2024, the Harford County Public Schools (HCPS) Career and Technology Education (CTE) Office will host an informational event for students and families about the programs of study within comprehensive high schools, as well as HCPS signature and magnet programs. The event will run 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Patterson Mill Middle/High School and is designed for students in grades 4-7.

At the event, elementary students will hear about the CTE programs they will experience in Middle school based on programs of study.  Middle school families will learn about the offerings available at magnet and specialty programs and opportunities to be career ready at graduation.

Current students and teachers from a variety of CTE programs will be on hand to meet with students and showcase how CTE innovatively prepares students for opportunities beyond high school.

The following Maryland State Department of Education recognized programs of study will be represented:  Arts, Media and Communications; Business Management, Finance and Entrepreneurship; Health and Human Services; Natural Resources and Agricultural Science; and Science, Engineering and Technology.

Information on CTE magnet and specialty programs, such as the Academy of Finance, Information Technology Oracle Academy, the International Baccalaureate Program, Pathways in Technology Early College High School (PTECH), Project Lead the Way Pre-Engineering, and the Teacher Academy of Maryland, will also be available.
