North Harford Middle School Eighth Graders Deliver Encouraging Words
Inspired by the film, The Letter Writer, two teams of North Harford Middle School eighth grade students composed encouraging letters for residents at local senior living centers as part of a schoolwide character education initiative and instruction in friendly letter-writing.

Forty-three eighth grade students delivered over 200 handwritten letters to four senior living centers in Forest Hill:  Forest Hill Health and Rehabilitation, Hart Heritage Estates, Forest Hill Heights, and Senator Hooper Hospice House. Students visited with and read letters to residents.

The letters students delivered to the hospice house were tailored for family members who are by the side of a loved one in hospice.

Several residents responded to students' letters and provided their own words of encouragement and wisdom for the North Harford Middle School students.
